ZEVX Leadership

Kevin Kennedy

Kennedy holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University and an MS and a PhD in engineering from Rutgers University and an EMBA from the University of Michigan. Before joining Avaya, he was CEO of JDS Uniphase Corporation, and prior to that he had worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Cisco Systems[4] where he became a Senior Vice President, and then as Chief Operating Officer of Openwave Systems.

Don Listwin

35 years of technology investing and management experience, highlighted by a decade at Cisco Systems, where he served as executive vice president. During his tenure at Cisco, he built several multi-billion-dollar lines of business, including the company’s Service Provider line of business that underpins much of today’s global Internet infrastructure.

Carolyn Maury

30 years of experience as a CFO and Director of Financial Analysis at Fortune 500 companies and software startups, including Software.com, Solaicx, Verizon Wireless, and Banner Health. Carolyn has been on the board of multiple health and technology companies providing strategic analysis of operations and financials.

James Maury

38 years of technology development and deployment of products within telecom, weather forecasting, and digital asset software. Jim’s experience includes Co-Founder, Global Weather Corporation (Google Company), CTO Prime Image, Director, Software Development Openwave Systems. 20 year executive, focused on customer adoption.

Charles Maury

Lead designer of ZEVX product portfolio, commercial electrification powertrain. Author of 12 patents focused on modular energy storage design & utility platforms and battery pack configurations. Leading ZEVX technology stack, Charles’ ideologies reflect industry progression and addresses pathways for rapid product deployment.

Damon Kuhn

35 years of experience in the automotive industry while working with hydrogen fuel cell and battery research technologies. Damon is the founder of Diamond Back Racing Engines and has 25 years of experience of leading successful manufacturing line turnarounds including US Coil Systems. Before joining ZEV, Damon has led multiple high-performance teams within the top nitro/alcohol funny car segment, developing frames and entire powertrains.

Dr. Arunachala Kannan

Earned his Ph.D. degree, renewable energy, from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore with a focus on metal/air batteries and alkaline fuel cells. Kannan has been involved in fuel cell and battery research and development for the past 20 years. Before joining ZEVX and Arizona State University as a Professor in the Electronic Systems Department, Dr. Kannan worked as Chief Scientist at Hoku Scientific Inc.

Darren Elliot

30 years of experience in risk management, data analytics, strategic planning, operational implementation, product development, and customer service across a wide variety of industry domains from start-ups to large corporations and government organizations. Prior to ZEVX, Darren helped develop and implement a policy at NASA to use integrated cost and scheduled risk analysis for project commitment and go-forward funding decisions, which has resulted in documented reduction in cost and schedule growth.

Jim Hill

40 years of experience in the computer industry, specializing in software development and quality assurance. As a leading member of two startup companies, he built quality assurance and software development organizations from the ground up. At Wavefront Technologies he was a key member of the team that developed the first commercial 3-D computer graphics platform. At Software.com he was a member of the team that developed and deployed the first scalable RFC compliant e-mail system

Jerry Allison

Over 25 years of broad corporate legal experience supporting global technology and manufacturing companies. Prior to joining ZEVX, Jerry served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Quanergy Systems, a provider of LiDAR sensors and solutions, and prior to that as Senior Vice President & Assistant General Counsel at Amkor Technology, one of the world’s largest providers of semiconductor assembly and test services. Jerry holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Arizona, and a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

James Johnson

15 years of experience in the Aerospace, Defense, and Information Technology industries providing analysis of advanced research and technology development projects. James has been involved in the sales and evaluation of technology projects ranging from a few million dollars to over one hundred billion dollars. James is a published author and presenter at prominent Aerospace industry conferences such as AIAA SPACE and IEEE Aerospace. His previous customers include: NASA, US Army, US Airforce, US Navy, Dept. of Defense, Dell, HP, Cisco, and SuperMicro.

BOARD MEMBER

Sidney Haider is the founder and Senior Vice President of AddOnAuto, as well as Mergers and Acquisitions for Reynolds and Reynolds.

An inventor with a deep understanding of the automotive industry and a different way to look at and approach solutions, Haider founded AddOnAuto – the leading digital platform for marketing and selling vehicle accessories – in 2006. AddOnAuto enabled dealerships to tap into a profit center they didn’t even realize they were missing out on. Haider then joined Reynolds as Vice President when it acquired AddOnAuto in 2014.

BOARD MEMBER

David L. Shimek is Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at The Reynolds and Reynolds Company. He was named to the role in April 2021, having previously been Senior Vice President of Operations.

Shimek is a 30 year veteran of Reynolds, serving in numerous leadership roles in the organization. He joined the company in 1993 as a logistics analyst, quickly advancing into roles such as Manager of the Operations Group, Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Sales for KeyTrak, Senior Vice President of the KeyTrak Company, and Senior Vice President of Hardware Services.

From July 2017 through November 2019 David served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rentsys Recover Services, a former subsidiary of The Reynolds and Reynolds Company.

With more than 30 years of operations experience, Shimek plays a key role in identifying and acquiring companies that provide a strategic advantage to Reynolds.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston-Victoria. He and his wife Dr. Michelle Shimek reside in College Station, TX. They have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.
